We provide Health/ Dental care service for the tribal community. Our staff includes 12 full-time medical workers. The Health Center is closed on Fridays.

10 ANNUAL HEALTH FAIR NEEDS VOLUNTEERS.

 

The Health Fair is Tuesday March 16, 2010 at 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Golden Eagle Casino.

Corinne Hale, Joe Ross, and Arlene Negonsott are the Coordinators of this event.  Please call either of them at 486-2154, or 486-2260 (DPP), or 486-2822 (CHR direct). 

  • Help is needed to set up and clean up. 

  • Assistance is needed for donations for door prizes. 

  • Assistance is needed to collect donations for door prizes. 

  • If you can help in any way, please call. 

Effective January 1, 2010 the Kansas Healthwave program has risen up 250% of the federal poverty guidelines for eligibility.

This means to qualify for Healthwave the amount that you and your family are allowed to make went up for this year (2010).

If there is a reasonable expectation that you would quality, you must apply to be eligible for the Contract Health Services out of the Kickapoo Health Center for your dependents children.

The Contract Health Service program of the Kickapoo Heath Center is a payer of last resort.

Any third party resource must be utilized first.

Please pickup a Healthwave application from the front office or contact the local SRS office for an application.

 

 

November 3, 2009

Hiawatha Community Hospital now requires payment up front for any services connected to the hospital. This included but, not limited to specialty, x-ray, tests and lab.

You have the right to choose your health care provider. Should you choose Hiawatha Community Hospital, be prepared to pay by cash, check, money order or credit card. This includes the deductible and co-pay for private insurance, Medicare and Medicare.

For convenience and to not waste time, please consider another provider other than Hiawatha Community Hospital for your health care needs.

Finally, we will no longer give referrals to Hiawatha Hospital for any reason.
